Perhaps if the images used in folding had transparent background or if they could blend with the main window's background they would appear less obstructive. Currently they're only in peace when you have a grey background for the line numbers or the text field.

In the stable release they are different implementations of recent use :) When you turn the option on, PN takes over from Windows itself and implements visual-studio like window ordering (my preference). This means that if you press Ctrl-tab, then release, then ctrl-tab again, you'll toggle between two files.

In the testing release (very soon to be stable) you'll find that recent use hasn't changed, but if you turn this option off you now get firefox-style tab ordering.

I just want to be sure - the option "Tab order controlled by recent use" doesn't really do anything in current stable release or does it? It seems to me that it is currently always by recent use.

Jumpfroggy is right about the reason for the current recent use behaviour. I'm definitely going to add the different behaviour, and have just set it for being done before the next stable release. Should get to it soon.

Couldn't seem to see an existing issue for this, I know there was one at Sourceforge and could have sworn it had made it over to Google Code. Never mind, here's a new one to track:

Karma; the "ping-ponging" is using most-recently-used order, which is more like windows' Alt+Tab. You're thinking in the "left to right" order, like firefox/ie's tabs. It's a personal preference which one is a better default, and you can definitely change it to suit.

However, I agree with the OP that Control+Tab should move right, Control+Shift+Tab should move left. Hopefully it'll get fixed sometime soon.

For me, the expected behavior is Ctrl-Tab to move forward in the tabs and Ctrl-Shift-Tab to move backwards. Programmer's Notepad instead seems to ping-pong between all tabs which is unexpected.

I just signed up for a test account with my work e-mail, and I got the e-mail through ok, so that seems to be working.

I then tried with a gmail account that I forward on to google apps, and the gmail account placed the mails in the spam folder and didn't forward them.

Do you use any arrangement like that?

I can see the delivery to your domain in the webserver logs, and it says that your server responded with
250 2.0.0 OK
which suggests that the mail made it that far ok.

I checked my spam folder, nothing. Is there a problem with the wiki mail server?

I've posted the feature request here:
http://code.google.com/p/pnotepad/issues/detail?id=82

I'd love to have an additional box in the "Find in Files" dialog labeled "Exclude file types". That way I could put ".svn" or ".pyc" in there and not see those in my results.

What do you guys think? Honestly, I'd love to optionally be able to put regex in there, since sometimes I want to exclude files depending on the filename (not extension). But extension-based filtering would be a great first-step.

i see that i've been too long away and many things was said and left without my response for what i'm sorry - i've got a lot on my mind right now (so do we all).

@jumpfroggy
if i only knew what you have in mind that would be great... i've tried what you've proposed - with this green thing and it sux...

@Rogier
i'm a professional programmer and not a designer (i do that in my spare time), so cut me some slack... i'm not happy with how it looks - i can do better, but i've got code to write, and doing gfx @ 3 am sux, so if you can make it better or make one better, then go ahead, i don't mind... it looks better than the first one - it doesn't hurt your eyes, so it does the job for me ;)

ps. arogance is not welcome, belive me (i'm arrogant :p)

-Syntax &Highlighting
-Word W&rap
-&Folding (...)
-&Individual Output

Apologies if the patch is not up to par, this is my first attempt.

NOTES:
A few (mark whitespace, folding, etc) already worked since they are the only items that start with a certain letter, but were not defined. Adding the shortcut makes it clear what key press will do what.

Also, right now B = "Toggle &Bookmark" and O = "Next B&ookmark", but O also = "&Output". I'd recommend changing it to "&Next Bookmark" to avoid conflict with O, and then use "Line N&umbers" to avoid conflict on N.

Simon, I've added it to the sf tracker ;)

And for the feedback on the logo: yeah, I was a bit grumpy this morning, so my feedback might have been not so constructive.

I am a professional designer and I've done some design work on opensource projects in the past. Right now I'm swamped with work, but I would love to help out in the future, because I love PN (I use it everyday :) ).
