They are distracting and they make the file look too cluttered, so I tried to make them lighter by changing the "Whitespace" color under "Styles" in the Options dialog. However, regardless of whatever color I pick, the color doesn't actually change. Most of the time I'm editing C/C++ code, so it's the one I've got congfigured the way I like it -- unfortunately, when I need to edit something else, the colors are completely screwed (naturally).</p> <p>Is there any way to have all of the other styles "inherit" the colors from one style? For instance, most languages have comments, numbers, strings, characters, etc. and it's a real pain to go through each language and set the color every single time. </p>
