I'll definitely be looking into it, in the mean time you can use
pn --reset
to reset all the settings. This will lose your styles configuration but should also solve the windows issue.

Alternatively you can delete the following registry key which will save your style settings but fix the docking windows:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Echo Software\PN2\Interface Settings\default

Hello, I already reported it on the bugs sectionsome weeks ago.

First of all thanks for this great tool. I really, really love it. That's
why I am reporting this bug, because I can't use PN any longer.

I user the application some months/weeks now and work on a Ruby on Rails
project. Suddently I can't open any projects anymore: the application
crashed. I changed nothing at the OS or the configuration.

When I open the applications, the Windows are somehow messed up. First I
tried PN 2.0.6 and the error occured while tring to open the report window
(F8). Even uninstalling and new install of PN didn't fixed this issue, so I
went on and installed PN 2.0.7, which does the job good. But now the same
error occurs but with the projects-window.

here: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1722609&group_id=45545&atid=443219

OK I updates to the latest unstable version and it no longer crashes (go figure).
I am still having trouble getting this scheme to work. I am not exactly sure how keys work and relate.

Here's a link to my scheme:
http://www.kylesplace.org/upload/es.schemedef.txt

And here's a sample of the language:
http://www.kylesplace.org/upload/es_gad.txt

I created a custom .schemedef and put it in C:\Program Files\Programmers Notepad\schemes but now whenever I start PN it crashes with a runtime error. It happens with any .schemedef, even a copied and renamed one.

What information should I post to help solve this?

I just tried to reproduce this with a very simple file:

void main()
{
}
;

and didn't see the crash. Can you provide me with a file that shows the problem? If not, perhaps I can send you a build including some more debug information to try it with?

PN2 has never crashed for me before, but today when pasting a block of code at the bottom of one of my files, PN2 crashed. Seems that if the very last character in a .c file is a semicolon, it will crash after saving, or when loading said file. The same line without a ; will load fine. This happens in older versions too, as I just upgraded after it happened to me, hoping that would fix it. I hope you can find and fix this crash bug.

Find and Replace does only use the selection as find text when it does not span multiple lines here and I just tested it with the first 3 paragraphs of Lorem Ipsum (about 3k) and PN2 did not crash. Exact steps to repoduce this crash and uploading its mini dump file to the tracker on PN2's SourceForge page might be required.

When running Find and Replace, if you have text already highlighted it will copy into the 'find' field automatically.
This happened to me as per normal except I happened to have an unusualy large amount of text already highlighted.
The find and replace box partially opened and the computer crashed with a memory dump message.
Perhaps dev team could include a condition for the highlighted text which prevents it from auto copying if its too big? Or is there something wrong with my pn.

Hi, yes I do check bugs, I try to get to them as I can but obviously sometimes these things just take time. Rory do you still see your problem with the most recent code because a couple of crash bugs in the latest autocomplete code have been fixed.

Well, I've finally gotten pn to build. That at least is something. Something is not right with things.

The first problem I found was in styles.cpp line 59. The response length was zero, so there was a bit of a problem with a negative index !

I don't yet know why the response is empty, or even what the response is.

This'll fix it:

if(response.length()> 1 && response[response.length()-1] == ' ')

--------------------------------
Next problem occurs when the "output" scheme is loaded. I'm not sure what's going on as yet, but, I did notice two sets of schemes are being loaded.
