Hi,
I just discovered pnotepad and I must say I'm really impressed. Small, clean, but powerfull - really great work.

I'm just starting to using it, but let me ask a few questions regarding some features that I'd consider really useful. Maybe there are already there and I could not find them, but if not, please, can you tell whether you plan on adding:

1. Autocompletion with documentation tooltips to python extension modules (like Visual Studio Intellisense). It would be great if you just type e.g. "pn." and see what members does pn object contain. I know it requires semantical analysis and it would probably be a lot of work to do it for any python script, but it would be enough if it worked for pnotepad extension scripts.

2. Dragging tabs between pnotepad windows (and outside pnotepad window to create new window). What I mean is exactly what Google Chrome does. I've been looking for text editor with this feature for a very long time. Notepad++ kind of does this, but it is limited to saved files - i.e. you cannot drag tab with new file, it must be saved first.
This feature is very handy when you have two or more monitors and want to quickly put one edited document on each monitor. I know you can do it by opening second instance of pnotepad, but this way it's not as user-friendly, especially when you usually work with just one instance and want to use two windows just for short periods of time.

Thanks, M.

I'm having trouble getting the tool working that allows you to select part of a word or phrase (eg. "ook") and also highlights all other partial words with a similar combination (eg. "book," "look," "took")

the exception of the additional support for XML API files (supporting Notepad++ format).

I have shifted from Notepad++.
therefore, the feature is very interesting.
what did PN come to be able to do newly?

Regards,

I'm using some tools that produce thounds of lines of output. It would be convenient to be able to run a text search in the output windows too like searching document windows.
TextPad nicely supports this feature.

I like the program overall, but I think there is one feature it could really use: a macro system, or some way of recording and playing back sequences of typing and commands within the program. I would really like it if they are accessible via keyboard shortcuts like in Crimson Editor.

I tried using the "request a feature" command, but it doesn't seem to be working. When I tried to submit my request, I got a strange error.

Thank you.

When we use Help > Request a feature, sourceforge site is opened for us to fill in the request.

But from my last post on some wishes (http://pnotepad.org/forums/topic/405), I see that wishes are filled in code.google.com.

So my question is, where should we post our wishes? Either, and it doesn't matter?

Hi Simon,
i have done the following changes:
- Linenummer now correct by search at all open Files
- "current project folder" changed to "current project files"
Now you can search all files at the active project
I think that ar better as find files at the project folder only
- Option "Match whole word only" in find in files
- the Currenf File, Currenf Folder ,,, Open Files ar always at the same place in the Find where Listbox.
- test the File on writeprotect when a file is opend.
is writeprotect or you hav no permission -> the file open as writeprotect.
you can changed the writeprotect at the file menue or with the red toogle-button at the statusbar.
the writeprotect files ar marked in the open Files Window

I hope, you resume that.

I have send the changes Files to:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1986544&group_id=45545&atid=443219
