http://pnotepad.org/forums/tags/folder Programmer's Notepad Forums en-US Thu, 09 Feb 2012 11:59:34 +0000 http://bbpress.org/?v=1.0.3 q http://pnotepad.org/forums/search.php http://pnotepad.org/forums/topic/5088#post-7414 Wed, 13 Oct 2010 17:51:27 +0000 Owen 7414@http://pnotepad.org/forums/ <p>I've be struggling with PN (v2.0.10.1010-dizzy) for days because I have two identical directory structures (checked out from SubVersion, but with a few different files edited), including a .pnproj file at the top level that defines the whole thing as a Magic Folder, but if I open the .pnproj in one directory, the subdirectories are listed in alphabetical order, whereas in the other directory (with an identical .pnproj file), the subdirectories are in some random order (which makes finding the file I want to edit a *real* pain).</p> <p>Come to find out that PN is sorting the subdirectories by *date modified* order; I don't see *anything* in the documentation on that, nor does the "Sort Folders" menu option seem to do anything, nor have *any* documentation.</p> <p>I found this post in the forums: "Magic folder - directory sorting by name" (<a href="http://pnotepad.org/forums/topic/210#post-759)" rel="nofollow">http://pnotepad.org/forums/topic/210#post-759)</a>, which seems to suggest that the source code for PN could be changed to allow alphabetical sorting, but I don't see anything in "bugs" or "feature requests" about the order of sub-folders in a Magic Folder. At the very least, the way this works right now needs to be documented, but I can't believe I'm the first to want the folders (and files) in alphabetical order!
