   A new testing release, version 2.1.3 of Programmer’s Notepad has been released to Google Code. This release fixes a bunch of bugs, but more importantly contains a complete rewrite of the Text Clips UI and Management/Editing features.

   Changes in 2.1.3:

   1. Complete re-write of text clips view and clips management system
   2. End clip entry on final empty field (experimental)
   3. Smart highlight range now limited to field of view +/- 200 lines, improves speed and usability with large files.
   4. Translations now fed directly from user translation project at pnotepad-twrans.googlecode.com
   5. Switch to boost 1.42

   Bug Fixes:

   1. Fix magic folder path changing. Fixes bug #760.
   2. Default to UTF-8 file type if UTF-8 is our default code page. Fixes bug #821.
   3. Fix incorrect behaviour when cancelling project load. Fixes issue #797.
   4. Don't ignore the first item when searching in Jump dialog. Fixes issue #820.
   5. Fix use of project templates in 2.21
   6. Use correct foreground color for options section header. Fixes issue #814.
   7. Fix taggers path. Add .pyw to default ctags options.
   8. Reset chunk position at start of clip insertion. Fixes issue #805.
   9. Fix GetLongPathName call. Fixes issue #803.
   10. Don't lowercase filename on adding new file. Fixes issue #527.

   Hi Simon,

   hope u r fine. I use now this release and the most time i use the Portable Version. A friend of mine creates a scheme for me. And i wanna use this custom-scheme with the Portable Version. And if there is any possibility my sheme should be set as standard.

   Is this possible with the portable version???

   You should be able to drop the scheme into the schemes directory in the portable edition, and then restart PN. This should pick the scheme up. Then go to Options | New Files and you can select this scheme as the one to use for new files.

   First of all - this is a great editor. I've been using it for more than 1.5 years.

   In the last release 2.1.3 I noticed changes connected to: "Smart highlight range now limited to field of view +/- 200 lines, improves speed and usability with large files."

   Is there a way to disable that (or at least make it possible for the user to set the number of lines). I often used PN to highlight words in huge text files (>10 MB) or highlight words in a source file with >1000 lines. I really miss the old feature (and I didn't mind waiting for couple of seconds, which as far as I understood is the main reason for the change).

   @ikea7788 Thanks.

   The smart highlight thing was a necessary change, at least for default behaviour. I'm now looking at two things:

   1. Re-highlight range as you scroll (this means we only search in small increments, but highlight is present all throughout the doc)

   2. An option allowing tweaking of the highlight range

   Note that in the mean time you can use Mark All to mark every occurrence in the file.
