When no line is selected Tab should work as tab do inserting a tab character or spaces that same amount as tab settings.
When line(s) are selected Tab (or another shortcut key(s)) should indent the selected line(s) by a separate amount of spaces.
SciTe has a method for this.
As a setting that can be turned on or off, for those who want it.
