I looked through the built-in help file and the forums. I know intuitively what they are (\n, \r, maybe even \t), but is there any documentations or clear explanation of what these are?
It seems like the help file is incomplete; that's understandable. I also wish the documentation was on the website, since often HTML is easier to browse and search than windows help files. Could we combine these two and convert the PN help file to a wiki?
I'm imagining something like how PHP has their manual. It's online as html, has user comments, is updated all the time, and is then compiled down to a windows help file. I think that would help PN a lot, especially as it undergoes changes. That way the online documentation could also become something of a knowledge base, constantly updated with the latest info.
If it were wiki-ified, then I could right now create an stub for backslash expressions and start gathering information about it. Simon may want more controlled access than a free-for-all (ala wikipedia), but allowing more than one person to edit it may take some of the load off his shoulders.
Does this all make sense? Any feedback appreciated.
