   .. I don't know why.

   I simply edit some code, hit save, and the screen goes blank for a few seconds. Everything runs as it should, but this problem is annoying and somewhat time consuming after a while. Any ideas?

   Which version of PN do you use?
   What operating system do you have?
   Do you have your file on a local/remote/other drive?
   Do you have free RAM? (check with CTRL+SHIFT+ESC - declared memory should be lower then total RAM memory you have installed; which you can check with Windows+Pause)

   Also, please clarify whether it's your whole screen or just the PN window.

   This is the first I've heard of this, so I don't think it's a common occurrence.

   Programmer's Notepad v2.0.8.718-basie
   Microsoft Windows XP Home SP3
   File is saved on local drive
   Brand new computer, plenty of RAM.

   The ENTIRE screen goes blank for about 1.5 or 2 seconds. That's all that happens. It's not really a problem, but an annoyance and waste of time.

   My guess is you either have some wired anti-virus software or quite opposite - you have a virus... That is if it happens upon saving any file.

   Yeah, needless to say this isn't something I've heard of and that version's been out for a year. You could try 2.0.10 RC (the latest testing release) and see if it still happens.

   I tried installing the latest version, but that didn't do it. My anti-virus software includes Secunia PSI, Windows Defender, and Avast! Antivirus. The computer is brand new and very secure, I'm certain a virus is not causing the problem

   I think that's something to do with windows sp3, and not with pn. Dough it's strange thats manifasting only with p.notepad. I too expierience window blanking but with other apps (when minimazing etc.). Probably SP3->Graphic card issue (I have nvidia).
