Hi,
I've just installed my beloved PN on Windows 7 x64 and it doesn't work - PN process consumes 100% of CPU but PN window never shows up.
How can I track down what's wrong or is it a bug in PN?
Thank you in advance for answering!

Thanks, have you ever installed PN before on this machine? I use it on x64 Win7 all the time (it's my dev machine) and am not seeing this problem.
Also, if you install Process Explorer can you click on the pn.exe when it's running at 100% and go into the Properties dialog to find the current stack (i.e. what code is running)? If you need more help just ask.
Correct - If I wait long enough it finally pops up. I guess it's the same issue as http://pnotepad.org/forums/topic/680 - you can close or delete this thread and let's continue our discussion on http://pnotepad.org/forums/topic/680.
I will post results prom ProcExplorer out there.
Gnom1gnom,
Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://tinyurl.com/9fhdl5 . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads available there for additional assistance and feedback.

[OT] Strangely enough above link doesn't take you to some virus/porn site, but to the forum... But it seems to appear in every topic on every forum on the Internet that is about Windows 7.
gnom1gnom - just an idea, but try plugging out your LAN/Internet cable before you run PN. Maybe you (or at least PN) are trying to open some an intranet file which is no longer available.
Nux: Jessica appears to work for a marketing firm, and I'm guessing that they've been paid to help people out with the Windows 7 launch by directing people having issues to the support forums.
Another possibility is that it's a virus checker causing a problem, if you tell your virus checker that PN is safe and to ignore it (or temporarily disable it) does that cause the delay to go away?
Nux - if this file is no longer available than wouldn't pugging out my LAN make it even more unavailable ;)
Besides it doesn't work. And as I pointed out this is the same issue as http://pnotepad.org/forums/topic/680 which occurs on XP, so (probably) it has nothing do do with a specific version of Windows.

Yes, it will but that's the point - if you are trying to open (from any program) a file/folder from a computer that is not available you'll have to wait until Windows decides that the file is really unavailable (disconnecting makes it immediately unavailable).
